Introduction
Harry's Harbour is a very picturesque town located in Green Bay. It resides along the coast, which provides many with some spectactular views of icebergs and sealife. The Walking Trail that starts at Upward's Cove curves along the shoreline to Gull Cliff Lookout, where you can view the surrounding islands in the area. The Trail ends at a graveyard from days gone by. Atop the Lookout you may even glimpse some sealife and the magnificant icebergs that float in the bay.
History
The fishery and forestry were the community's main source of income. In the early 1970's, there was a fish plant built in the town, eliminating the need for the fishermen to ship to other places as they did in the pass years before. But as it is with all small communities that depended on the fishery for survival, it has diminished in size since the cod moratorium. Now there are just a few lobster and crab fishermen who still depend on the fishery for income.
